Deai: The Journal of a 66-year old American as he circumnavigates Japan
This journal is written by Jim Parker as he circumnavigates Japan in a 16-foot open sailboat called "Deai," which means Encounter in English. Jim graduated from Glendale High School in 1963. Stationed in Japan the last two years of his seven years in the US Navy, Jim returned to Japan to attend university in Tokyo. Jim has been a resident of Japan since then although he returns to Glendale twice a year, once in the summer and once in the winter.

A family owned and operated restaurant, Little Saigon has won praises from the Phoenix community for great food at great prices. Moving from it's Phoenix location to downtown Glendale's historic antique district. This little cottage is now the home of one of the valley's best authentic Vietnamese restaurants with almost 100 items on the menu.

You will find local business patrons as well as local residents and families lining up to eat. The cottage is decorated with pictures and items from Vetnam.

With limited seating ( max. occupancy 40 people), the service is quick and efficient in order to be able to seat and serve everyone, reservations of 6 or more people is strongly recommended, especially on the weekend. While you wait to be seated, your patience is greatly appreciated.
